Teach Me 2 Crochet®
& Teach Me 2 Knit®
It's Hip to be Square:
Learn how to knit or crochet a basic square, and then be inspired by how to use the square in various projects. Participants will receive a skein of TLC Essentials yarn, a learn-how book, a crochet hook or pair of knitting needles, a yarn needle, instructions for the basic square and inspiration for projects to create from squares. Also discussed in depth: how to read instructions. Session time: 1.5 hours. While we do have set session times, feel free to drop in at the Activities Area of the show floor anytime to join in the discussions or just sit and stitch a while.

Time Trials
The Craft Yarn Council of America (CYCA) and the British Hand Knitting Confederation, will hold time trials daily at the market. Knitters and crocheters vie to pre-qualify for the titles of World's Fastest Knitter and Crocheter, with the finals held at a later date.

CYCA Certified Instructor Program
Wednesday, September 10
8:30 am - 8:30 pm
Certified Instructor Program (CIP) in Knitting, at the Doubletree Hotel: It's a great time to share your knitting talents and become a certified teacher! People are clamoring for lessons and stores are offering classes. The Craft Yarn Council of America (CYCA) Certified Instructors Program provides knitters with teaching skills and confidence.

To apply for this special intense one-day knitter's edition of the course, you must have advanced beginner's skills in knitting and the enthusiasm to teach. (This is NOT a beginning knitter's course.) Pre-class homework is required and 15 hours of post-class volunter teaching must be done. The course will be taught by Dixie Berryman. See all of the details at www.craftyarncouncil.com/teach.html. The Craft Yarn Council of America offers discounts for TKGA and CGOA members.

All registrations for CIP are handled directly by CYCA.

Chic

Chic Street
Saturday
September 13
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
We're taking creativity to the streets on Chic Street, a fashion runway where exhibitors and The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA) and Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) members will showcase their latest creations. Be sure to fill out the portion of the Registration Form to submit a garment for the Fashion Show - spots are limited.

This gala evening will open with a cash bar, a scrumptious dinner and the Helping Hands Mittens and Gloves Silent Auction to benefit the Needle Arts Mentoring Program of the Helping Hands Foundation, Inc. (HHF). Auction proceeds will go to non-profit organization HHF to help spread the needle arts to your all over America.

Silent Auction entries include mittens and gloves that have been knitted, crocheted, embellished beyond your wildest dreams by our own knit and crochet designers. They've been challenged to create items to entice attendees to bid their hearts out, all to help a wonderful, worthwhile cause. The Fashion Show sponsor is Universal Yarns and emcees are Lily Chin and Drew Emborsky, "The Crochet Dude".

TKGA Master Pinning will be held during the evening.
